Chief Al Mattingly served aboard the USS Harry Lee and was in charge of a crew of about 34 Pharmacist Mates. Al was originally from Arizona, and moved to Farmington, New Mexico in 1965. He was a hard worker and loved life. Al met his wife at the Great Lakes Naval Station where she worked civil service for the Navy. After a very full life, Al passed away in 1990 at age 69. |
